    Indirect object pronouns attach to the end of the "imperativo" in affirmative sentences.

  • Al primo appuntamento non fargli domande troppo personali.

    On the first date, don't ask him questions that are too personal.

  With the "imperativo negativo" of "tu", the pronoun goes before the verb or deletes the last letter.

• Per noi, suonare la chitarra elettrica è più divertente che noioso.

  For us, playing the electric guitar is more fun than boring.

In this comparison using two adjectives to describe playing an electric guitar we use "più ... che".

• • • • • • • Non direi che questa è la migliore canzone del gruppo.

              I would not say that this is the group's best song.

            We say "non direi" to show disagreement.

          • Abbiamo visitato Roma, dove abbiamo ammirato molti monumenti storici di cui avevamo solo sentito parlare.

            We visited Rome, where we admired many historical monuments we had only heard about.

          The relative pronoun "cui" is always accompanied by a preposition (di cui).

        • Prima di uscire di casa, avevo spento tutte le luci.

          Before leaving home, I had turned off all the lights.

        We say "prima di uscire" and "avevo spento".

      • Prima di trasferirmi in Germania mi ero già iscritto a un corso di tedesco.

        Before moving to Germany I had already enrolled in a German course.

      We say "mi ero iscritto" because it takes place before moving to Germany.

    • Ho un certo languorino...

      I'm a little peckish...

    We say "Ho un certo languorino" when we are a little hungry.

  • Per noi, suonare la chitarra elettrica è più divertente che noioso.

    For us, playing the electric guitar is more fun than boring.

  In this comparison using two adjectives to describe playing an electric guitar we use "più ... che".
